The occurrence
On , C-GKGX, a privately-operated amateur-built Wag-A-Bond aircraft, was on a visual flight rules flight from Barron Lake, QC, to Lachute Airport. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft turned left and crashed on the ice surface of the lake, coming to rest in a vertical position. The emergency locator transmitter (ELT) activated. The pilot, who was the only person on board, received fatal injuries.
