Gatineau, Quebec,  —

Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its final annual statistical summaries for 2025, providing an overview of transportation occurrences across Canada's air, marine, pipeline, and rail sectors. Monitoring occurrence data is an important part of the TSB’s work, helping identify trends, emerging safety issues, and areas where further safety action may be needed.

In 2025, a total of 3,354 occurrences (accidents and incidents) were reported to the TSB. Of these, 1,292 were accidents which is 13% below the 10-year average of 1,480.

  • Air transportation sector: 1,141 occurrences (accidents and incidents). Of these, 204 were accidents that resulted in 33 fatalities. (Read the full 2025 Air statistical summary)
